Wisdom is an interesting and revealing Book from the Apocrypha written approximately 50 years before Christ Jesus by a Jewish sage in Alexandria. Allow me to insert Jesus name in red.
Wis 2:12 Therefore let us lie in wait for the righteous[Jesus]; because he is not for our turn, and he is clean contrary to our doings: he upbraideth us with our offending the law, and objecteth to our infamy the transgressings of our education.
Wis 2:13 He[Jesus] professeth to have the knowledge of God: and he calleth[Jesus] himself the child of the Lord.
Wis 2:14 He[Jesus] was made to reprove our thoughts.
Wis 2:15 He[Jesus] is grievous unto us even to behold: for his life is not like other men’s, his ways are of another fashion.
Wis 2:16 We are esteemed of him[Jesus] as counterfeits: he abstaineth from our ways as from filthiness: he pronounceth the end of the just to be blessed, and maketh his boast that God is his father.
Wis 2:17 Let us see if his[Jesus] words be true: and let us prove what shall happen in the end of him.
Wis 2:18 For if the just[Jesus] man be the son of God, he will help him, and deliver him from the hand of his enemies.
Wis 2:19 Let us examine him with despitefulness and torture, that we may know his meekness, and prove his patience.
Wis 2:20 Let us condemn him[Jesus] with a shameful death: for by his own saying(I AM THE SON OF GOD) he shall be respected.
These writings would have been very familiar to the Jewish Pharisees who daily followed Jesus around. I am sure in retrospect after the death and reported resurrection of Jesus that these same Pharisees were cut to the heart by these very words empowered by their own involvement in their fulfilment.
Act 2:22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:
Act 2:23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:
Act 2:24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.
Act 2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
Act 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
And so it is today….The same powerful pricking of the heart is needed so that those who still kill Jesus may cry out:
What must we do to be saved!!??
The same power of God shall testify of the RISEN LORD JESUS CHRIST whom God raised from death and seated Him inside Himself at His right hand on high. The same no-name people like those first fisherman from Galilee shall proclaim the GOOD NEWS about Jesus and His resurrection. They shall declare boldly that God is their Father and if you have seen them you have seen the Father for He is in us. They shall love one another fervently with a pure heart just as Jesus loves them.
They said—Wis2:17–“Let us see if his words be true: and let us prove what shall happen in the end of him”
The Serpent says–Did God really say?????
God has not stopped vindicating Jesus His Word made flesh. Jesus is still God’s word made flesh for He lives fully inside the flesh of those who believe He does.
And nothing can separate us from the love of God which is inside Christ Jesus…neither tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? The Word in us is tested and found to be more than just true…
but super abundantly overcomingly true!!
Jesus is risen from the grave and lives forevermore!!
Where you say? Where is this Jesus?
Here in my heart! There in her heart! Over there in His heart! Wherever the body is there the head is also!! Jesus is where you are right now and He knocks upon the door of your heart.
Why don’t you let Him in.
